Michaux is a British company, named for one of the first organizations that allowed women to cycle in public in the late 1800’s — the Michaux Cycle Club. Regarded as “courageous figureheads of a new era of freedom, not just for women, but for society as a whole,” this club shepherded in a new era of female mobility.
After tiring of looking for a suitable cycling handbag, Rachel Bonney decided to design her own. Her aim was to offer the same sense of empowerment and freedom so embodied by the early cycle clubs, but with a modern, active approach to living an independent life by bike. She manages to balance elegance, style, heritage and functionality – and manufacturers exclusively in the UK.
