COSTUME PARTY, BIKES REQUIRED.

CALLING ALL GHOULS.

The only thing better than riding through the end of October is capping it off with a Halloween bike parade. And there’s no better place to do so than Chicago. Last year, I rode with Dorothy, the Tin Man and about 50 Wicked Witches on everything from stacker bikes to lit up cruisers.

Dovetailing perfectly with the monthly Critical Mass ride (the last Friday of every month), this annual event draws hundreds of riders to downtown Chicago in a festive, organized, slightly raucous cruise. I found myself singing and laughing for 2 hours. Highly recommend this, or any of these spooktacular options:

Burlington, VT: 7th Annual Halloween Bike Ride by Old Spokes Home, 10/30

Berkey, OH: Tombstone Tour, Saturday, 10/22

Los Angeles: Critical Mass Halloween Ride (4000 riders strong!), 10/28

I love the Halloween sign (skeleton on a bike) on this webpage. Where did you get that?

I bought this at a furniture store in downtown Billings, Montana. It was in their window and they had several of them. Sadly, it doesn’t say anywhere on it who made it or I would be tracking them down right now to sell these things. They’re really cute.
