There’s no argument that men have dominated the cycling industry for generations, but today there’s a strong emergence of women cyclists and it’s exciting how the marketplace is responding to address their needs. OneTen Cycles, an independently owned bike store, plans to make a big impact helping more women ride bicycles.

OneTen Cycles prides itself on being a woman-friendly bike store. This approach starts with a genuine greeting as you enter the shop, but there’s much more to making you feel comfortable. First, they have women working for them both behind the scenes and on the sales floor. OneTen is proud to employ two female sales associates and a female buyer/merchandiser. They all cycle and their experiences add credibility to their interactions with customers.

They also believe that not only should you feel welcome, but comfortable with the store layout and merchandise as well. A recent store remodel afforded them the opportunity to better address the needs of female customers. They added a comfortable, well-lit changing room and a professional, quiet bicycle fit station. Women now feel at ease trying on clothes and/or getting fit for the perfect size bike.

Terry clothing is proudly displayed in the designated women’s specific area. Because their female employees ride and wear the clothing, they can speak as experts. The store’s assortment ranges from recreational riders to performance cyclists. Terry clothing is a favorite because it offers both technical fabric and styling that is innovative and attractive. Furthermore, Terry offers sizing for real women’s bodies from size zero to plus sizes. Staff favorites include the Bella short and the infamous Bolero!

In addition to a woman friendly store and a vast women’s product assortment, OneTen Cycles also hosts women specific events such as No Drop Rides and Fix a Flat Seminars, as well as partnering with studios that offer spin classes. OneTen Cycles earnestly tries to help more women recognize the sheer joy of riding a bicycle.
